I am a senior research scientist at DeepMind. Before joining DeepMind, I was a postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley affiliated with the Computational Cognitive Science Lab and BAIR. I received a PhD and an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.

My research interests are in the intersection of computational linguistics, cognitive science, and machine learning. My recent work has focused on evaluating and improving vector-space representations and using theory-of-mind experiments to explain question-answering models. During my PhD, I studied how children learn, represent, and search for semantic information.

Here is my CV.

I grew up in Tehran, Iran. I got a diploma in Math and Physics from Tehran Farzanegan Highschool. After that, I did my undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology. In 2008, I moved to Toronto to start my graduate studies.
